Important information: Sunhats and drinking a lot of water are essential to your safety touring in this area. Water sandals with good treads that hold the foot (not crocs or flipflops) are highly recommended to fully enjoy the nature walk at Ein Gedi or to swim in the Dead Sea. Bring along towels rather than needing to buy/rent there. Best to get an early start for the Dead Sea because many sites close at 4:00pm in the winter and 5:00pm in the summer. The area is not recommended for very small children or elderly in the summer months due to the extreme heat. Make sure not to shave the day before entering the Sea, no splashing, and no jewelry (Sea can damage gold, silver, etc.).
